Q.   How do I setup VoiceMail?
 
A.   Using your Nextel phone, follow these steps:
  1. Dial your 10-digit Nextel Phone Number. If you are calling from a phone other than your Nextel phone, dial your 10-digit Nextel phone number and press the "*" key when you hear the greeting.
  2. If you are calling from a phone other than your Nextel phone, you will hear a greeting. Press the "*" key to access your Voice Mail account.
  3. When prompted, enter your password. (If you are a new user, enter the last seven digits of your phone number. This is your temporary password.)
  4. Follow the instructions given during the recorded tutorial to: Create a new four- to seven-digit password. Record your name and greeting.
  5. When the system says, "Enjoy using Nextel Voice Mail," your mailbox is set up.

Q.   How do I retrieve VoiceMail?
 
A.   For i1000, i2000, i500plus, i550plus, i700plus, i1000plus or i2000plus phones:
  1. From the Phone Ready screen, press the option key under “Mail”.
  2. Select Voice Mail by scrolling to VoiceMail or by pressing the “1” key.
  3. Press the option key under “Ok”. The Voice Mail screen appears. The numbers of new and total messages display.
  4. Press the option key under “Dial”.
    NOTE: If you hear a message that says, “Enter the phone number of the subscriber you are trying to reach,” enter your own 10-digit Nextel phone number. When the greeting plays, press the “*” key to receive the password prompt.
  5. When prompted, enter your password.

For i85s and i50sx phones:
  1. Access the Message Center:
    If MESG is one of your display options, press the option key under MESG
    If MESG is not one of your display options, press the “menu” key, Scroll to Messages, and press the option key under SELECT.
  2. Scroll to Voice Mail. The numbers of new and total messages display.
  3. Press the option key under CALL. NOTE: If you hear a message that says, “Enter the phone number of the subscriber you are trying to reach,” enter your own 10-digit Nextel phone number. When the greeting plays, press the “*” key to receive the password prompt.
  4. When prompted, enter your password.

From another phone:
  1. Dial your 10-digit Nextel phone number.
  2. When you hear your greeting, press the "*" key. You will be prompted to enter your password.
  3. Enter your password.
